Morbid Obesity is a serious medical condition that can threaten the life of an individual. Someone is considered morbidly obese if they happen to carry one hundred pounds of excess weight or if they have a BMI of 40 or above.

More than 12 million people in the U.S are morbidly obese and the numbers are growing faster every year.
Morbid obesity problems can result in some of the most complex and dangerous medical conditions that any single individual can suffer from. The effect of so much weight on the major organs can be extreme and can trigger a cascade of related medical conditions which can ultimately lead to death. So what are the most serious of the medical problems related to morbid obesity?
Some of the most serious conditions can occur as result of silent diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. They can on the body of the morbidly obese, slowly destroying the proper functioning of the major organs, until suddenly, a serious problem occurs. These subtle, silent diseases are probably the most dangerous condition that a morbidly obese individual can suffer from. While an overweight individual may appear on the face of it to be medically alright these diseases can be acting silently in wings damaging the important organs of the body until a serious condition arises.

Morbid obesity also has an immensely detrimental effect on the heart. It is strongly associated with various types of cardiac diseases ranging from slow acting, yet serious build-up of fatty plaques in the arteries (atherosclerosis) to life threatening cardiac rhythm disturbances (malignant arrhythmias) which can result in sudden death.

But been very large also affects the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system and the gastrointestinal system. It is also responsible for causing complex and very painful forms of arthritis as well as whole host of related orthopaedic problems. Morbid obesity has even be connected with the increased incidence of certain types of cancers.

Been extremely overweight isn't a disease that should be taken lightly. Even though a morbidly obese individual can live relatively 'normal' life the damage the condition is causing internally can result in serious medical complications.
Avoid becoming obese (much mess morbidly obese) at all cost. Been extremely overweight can be serious danger to your health. The diseases related to morbid obesity are diverse and complicated and some of them can lead to death. The longer an individual remains excessively overweight the more danger these diseases pose to their health.
